FULL-DAY TOUR
Kabah and Uxmal with Codices Workshop
Overview
We headed towards the Puuc Route, driving towards Kabah and Uxmal, two cities that represent the pinnacle of Mayan architectural refinement. Walking through their ancient ceremonial centers is to be enveloped by the harmony of their proportions, the precision of their reliefs, and the silence that still holds centuries of knowledge, astronomy, and ritual.
In Kabah, the symbolic power of its facades reveals a language carved in stone, where every mask and every detail tells a sacred story. Uxmal, with its serene majesty and perfect integration with the landscape, invites deep contemplation, to explore it without haste, allowing its energy and beauty to unfold step by step.
The experience becomes even more personal with a creative encounter inspired by ancestral tradition. Through a private workshop on pottery and Mayan codices, you will learn to capture symbols and narratives on clay, just as the ancient Maya did. Doña Patricia, a contemporary Mayan woman, opens the doors of her workshop so you can understand the meaning of the messages these codices conveyed in ancient times, thus concluding a day filled with connection to Mayan culture and a journey into Mexico's ancient past.
