Between the two archaeological sites, we'll make a special stop at a traditional local restaurant, where the aromas of Yucatecan cuisine herald one of the most authentic experiences of the day. Here you can savor freshly prepared cochinita pibil, slowly cooked underground using ancient Mayan techniques. And if we're lucky, we'll witness the unearthing of the cochinita, when the earth opens and slowly releases the rich aroma of spices, achiote, and banana leaves, transforming lunch into a true culinary ritual.

The journey continues to Uxmal, an undisputed jewel of the Puuc Route and one of the most refined Mayan cities in Mesoamerica. Its perfectly decorated facades, harmonious proportions, and the serene energy that pervades its plazas invite you to explore it at a leisurely pace, allowing every detail to reveal centuries of astronomical knowledge, symbolism, and art. From the imposing Pyramid of the Magician to the majestic Nunnery Quadrangle, Uxmal captivates with its elegant and profoundly spiritual beauty.
